One student who was transferred to the Primary school last year passed the Common Entrance and is now attending the High School. This brings the total number of former students attending secondary schools to nine. These students range from form one to five. This year Ashanda McKree won the first prize for the Regatta T-shirt design competition and Raquel Miller got a special prize. Liston Simmons was named most valuable player in the recently concluded Junior Basketball tournament.

Aderia Bynoe is having serious medical problems. She had an operation on her foot last October, but is again hospitalized because of continued kidney problems. Alisha Burgin returned to school after just over a year in the USA.

Staff

Helen, Keithroy and Iyandal are still at school. All three of them are doing short term training courses which would enhance their teaching skills and improve the standard of the school even more. Clerise has completed her training at Mico Teachers College in Jamaica and is back at school. Levan continues in the workshop two days per week and with Keithroy is doing a good job.

Delnora continues to prepare delicious meals and is also teaching several students how to prepare meals and to take care of the kitchen generally. Liz (from the Government Program) helps to clean two days per week. Cardona Holligan from the Youth Empowerment Program (YES) would be with us until the end of the school year. Camille continues to manage the schools as usual.

Visitors and Volunteers

Uncle Bill returned home recently after another visit where he continued to help in the wood work shop daily. Eriko Ouchi, a Japanese volunteer, completed a two-year assignment and returned to Japan recently. She worked as a counselor but helped in several other areas including sewing and crafts. Several other visitors and volunteers have contributed to the continued success of the school in a variety of ways.

Board Members

Several board members continue to give generously of their time to support the school, and they meet regularly each month and on special occasions to discuss school business and plan strategy.

After working with us for a long time, Dr. Thomas decided to take a rest and has resigned as president. But he has promised to continue helping however he can. Lisa has now taken over as the new president of the board.
