BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Sunshine School is a privately funded not-for-profit institution, administered by a local Board of Directors. Board Members work hard to meet the annual fiscal requirements in order to offer the students a wonderful learning environment.

Since the inception of the Sunshine School, there has been a Board of Directors consisting of volunteers residing on Bequia. Potential members are screened and selected based on their ability and willingness to participate. To maintain proper office positions and dedicated seats, the Board holds elections biannually.

Monthly meetings are held throughout the year with agendas covering school business, development and funding. It is the responsibility of the Board to raise the funds necessary to keep the school running efficiently.

The Sunshine School is currently recruiting new members to join the Board of Directors, to help with the administration of the school.

Requirements

  • Be interested in helping the Sunshine School

  • Be willing to volunteer

  • Be resident on island at least 8 months per year

  • Get along well with others

  • Attend monthly meetings

Alternatively, persons unable to commit to the Board but willing to help may volunteer to the Support Group, where volunteers help during the various fundraisers such as the Jumble Sale, Book sales or at Encore charity shop.

Interested persons may visit the school, call, or email for further information. Contact information is on the last page.
