Michelle is a college trained teacher who left a job at a High school to join the staff at the Sunshine School. She recalls “reporting for duty with mixed emotions – excited but afraid of not being prepared for the unknown “. She says her love for children gave her the drive to walk through the gates into what turned out to be a life changing experience. According to her, what you do to make each child in your care realize his or her purpose is what truly matters. She has fallen in love and is furthering her Special Education studies.

Michelle is supported by a dedicated and hard working staff of teachers and ancillary workers who continue to help students achieve their highest potential.

Ashanka Quashie

From 2013 to 2015 she attended Teacher’s  College, then returned to the Sunshine School. She says her goal is to show others that everyone has talent. She likes a challenge and is determined to succeed. She lives by her grandmother’s wisdom: Do your best at everything you do and let God do the rest.

Krista Bynoe

Assistant Teacher

Krista is a former student who always “mothered" the younger and less able students. After she completed the school program in 2015, it was easy for her to make the transition to the position of assistant. She does a great job helping and supporting teachers in class and as needed.
